Julie defines her technique as influenced by Angelin Preljocaj and Peter Goss but also incorporates tools from Pilates, Feldenkrais and Somatic Movement. The goals of this class are a warm-up that brings the dancer from the center to the floor, then to the barre, using the relationship between the skeleton and gravity to obtain release from habitual muscular contractions. You will be prepared to explore new balances, and find new energies in the movements, and will be encouraged to search for these new counterweights and supports necessary to ease changes of direction. The outcome is an increase in speed and control of the execution of any type of choreography.
